Arnhem-veterans make movie for friends in The Netherlands
The British veterans have been brought and driven around for years by the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans, a British charity that transports veterans in original British taxis. Two members of that organisation made the film after they heard how hard it was for the very old chaps that they cannot commemorate their fallen comrades again in the Arnhem region
Preparations for Airborne Commemorations 2021 in full swing
About the expected numbers of veterans, Beets answers: ”If everything is possible again and everything is free, there may be only a few veterans. In the past year we have lost many of them and some have indicated that they are no longer physically able to make the tiring trip. They are already looking forward to video streaming, to be able to be there at home that way. It is not yet possible to say anything about the number of relatives who will possibly make the crossing.”

The Airborne March in the regular form, so with about 30,000 people who walk around a few square kilometres in a few hours, will not happen this year, but the organisation does not give up hope and is looking for alternatives
The Liberation parade on May 5th in Wageningen will continue
"With regard to the parade, the Ministry of Defence has made new agreements, which, together with the other support agreements, have been laid down in a covenant. The agreements are being reviewed in response to the concerns that have arisen about the future of the parade. Starting point is that the parade will take place annually with support of the Ministry of Defence."

As a sign of silent resistance, many bright orange marigolds were sown in the Dutch front garden during WW II. Now 15.000 marigolds have been scattered from the windows on the steps of the town hall and seeds are sprinkled with the flowers. Part of it will fall into the flower beds that are arranged on either side of the landing stairs in the form of the Morse code V for Victory
