At the oldest, and so first Airborne monument in the Municipality of Renkum in The Netherlands, The Canon in Heelsum, the local Orange Association held a remembrance in the evening of september 17th.
Alderman Joa Maouche held a speech and children from the Airborneschool in Renkum were present with their teacher. Their class adopted the monument and yearly they take their part in the ceremony. Three of them read a self-written poem, they laid flowers and raised the flags. Among the people present mister Oosten van der Vegte who was one of the builders of monument The Canon. (photo 22).
